Twelve Sectors, One Agenda: Production at Home, Promotion Abroad

With summer over, the Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB) has shifted into high gear under the motto “İşimiz Üretim Gücümüz İhracat,” aiming to broaden Türkiye’s reach in priority markets. Representing 12 industries—from fashion and leather to food, seafood and natural stone—Egeli exporters are staging more than 20 trade shows, buyer missions, B2B programs and design competitions across Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia throughout September.

Agri-Food Vision: Panel in Izmir Targets a $10 Billion Milestone

Backed by Türkiye’s strong agricultural output—$72 billion in annual agricultural GDP—and EIB’s $7.5 billion agri export leadership, the association will host the “Tarım ve Gıdada Gelecek Vizyonu” panel on September 12, 2025, in cooperation with the Presidential Board for Agriculture and Food Policies. The goal: contribute to policy alignment and push EIB agri exports toward the $10 billion mark through innovation, value-add and new market penetration.

From Damascus to Singapore: Market Development on Multiple Fronts

After fielding a seven-member delegation (including four union chairs) to the 62nd Damascus International Fair (Aug 27–Sep 5), EIB set an ambitious target to lift Syria-bound exports—already up 83% in Jan–Aug 2025—to $50 million by year-end (from $33 million in eight months).
The Aegean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Association (ESÜHMİB) followed with a stand at the Pakistan Turkish Export Products Fair (Sep 9–11) and heads next to Seafood Expo Asia, Singapore (Sep 10–12). The sector’s September sprint will culminate at Apimondia in Copenhagen (Sep 23–27), spotlighting Türkiye’s honey and apiculture ecosystem. ESÜHMİB’s 2025 export target is $1.9 billion.

Fashion, Leather and Home: European Hubs in Focus

The Aegean Ready-to-Wear and Apparel Exporters’ Association is pursuing stability in shipments by appearing at six fairs across four countries this year. September opened with Munich Fabric Start (Sep 2–3), where eight Turkish companies sought fresh sourcing ties in Türkiye’s top apparel market, Germany. Next, 19 firms will showcase at PV Manufacturing Paris (Sep 16–18).
In leather goods, the Aegean Leather and Leather Products Exporters’ Association is present at MIPEL (Sep 7–9, Italy) with six firms, aligning with European buyers of saddlery, bags and accessories.

Olives to Canada, Furniture to China, Grains at WorldFood

Fresh off business missions to Australia and the U.S., the Aegean Olive and Olive Oil Exporters’ Association is heading to Toronto (Sep 8–13) with 24 executives from 16 companies, holding B2B talks on September 11 and conducting institutional visits to deepen brand visibility and shelf access in Canada.
On the industrial side, the Aegean Furniture, Paper and Forestry Products Exporters are leveraging U.S. tariffs on Chinese furniture to explore production partnerships and export routes during a Shanghai–Foshan mission (Sep 8–11) under the Aegean Furniture UR-GE project.
Meanwhile, 25 member companies of the Aegean Cereals, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Exporters’ Association joined WorldFood Istanbul (Sep 2–5) to lock in autumn contracts and widen distribution in retail and foodservice.

Natural Stone: Awards, Pakistan and Design-Led Growth

The Aegean Minerals Exporters’ Association (EMİB) showcased in Damascus and Pakistan (Sep 9–11), signaling confidence in South Asian demand. EMİB also revived the AMORF Natural Stone Design & Production Competition in 2025, with the Gala & “Stars of Natural Stone Exports” Awards slated for September 13 at Laodikeia Ancient City in Denizli, underlining the sector’s pivot to design, sustainability and premium applications.

Izmir to Host Interfresh Eurasia: 700 Buyers, 70 Countries

The Interfresh Eurasia Fair returns to Izmir (Sep 18–20) for its 6th edition, bringing together 700 international buyers from 70 countries across fresh produce, processed fruit & veg, and dried fruits. The Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association will lead Türkiye’s pavilion presence, seeking to build on the $8 billion foreign exchange inflow generated by these product groups in 2024.
