Turkish Stones, a Turquality project promoting Turkish natural stones, showcased its exceptional offerings at the World Architecture Festival 2024 (WAF) held on November 6–8 at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. Sponsored by Turkish Stones, the prestigious "Best Use of Stone" category highlighted innovative projects utilizing natural stone, evaluated by an esteemed international jury.
Turkish Stones: A Global Showcase of Excellence
Supported by the Istanbul Mineral Exporters’ Association (İMİB), Western Mediterranean Exporters’ Association (BAİB), and Aegean Mine Exporters’ Association (EMİB), Turkish Stones has positioned itself as a global ambassador for Turkey’s rich natural stone heritage.
- VR Experiences: Visitors at the Turkish Stones booth experienced a virtual journey through 12,000 years of Anatolian stone craftsmanship.
- Interactive Display: A large screen highlighted the evolution and versatility of Turkish stones in architectural projects worldwide.
“Best Use of Stone” Award Presented to Play Architecture
This year, Turkish Stones sponsored the “Best Use of Stone” category, which recognized seven innovative architectural and interior design projects featuring stone.
- The award went to Play Architecture for their “OH HO Residence” project in India.
- The jury panel included renowned architects Yasemin Şener, Simon Doody, and Tim Kwan, who praised the creative and sustainable use of stone in the winning project.
World Architecture Festival: Where Inspiration Meets Excellence
The World Architecture Festival (WAF) is a global platform celebrating the best in architecture and interior design. This year’s festival hosted:

- Delegates from Turkey, including EAA-Emre Arolat Architecture, Bilgin Architects, and GAD Architecture, used the space to network and engage.
- The booth also hosted a cocktail event attended by Turkey’s Ambassador to Singapore Mehmet Burçin Gönenli and Commercial Attaché Mihriban Esin Arslan, followed by an exclusive reception at the Ambassador’s residence.
