What Is Eye Color Change Surgery?
Prof. Dr. Kaşkaloğlu explains, “The color of the eye is determined by the iris. However, in this procedure, we don’t alter the iris itself. Instead, we modify the cornea, the transparent front layer of the eye, by adding pigmentation that does not affect vision. From a social distance, the eye color appears as the patient desires.”
The procedure is performed using the FLAAK technique, a method where a laser creates a small channel in the cornea. This channel is then filled with specialized pigments in the chosen color.
